Tribute

It started out here... 5 years ago... Good old high school where we thought "The Greatest Story Ever Told" would be in those walls with the Don, and graduation, yes, we were living.

Then I went to college...

I moved into Rogers Hall, part of Heritage Halls at BYU and had GREAT roommates! Lauren Skidmore, Natalie Hansen, Brittany McEwen, Crystalee Webb, and Rachel Petersen. We were the Mag6. I thought I was grown up then, going to college classes, but sticking with my attractive high school boyfriend. It was all just fun and games for now anyway. I was a college girl with my cute short hair now and good friends. But I was still a freshman baby.

Now I was a sophomore, had successfully had one summer fling, and was living in The Elms... which was quite a dump. This was a year of growth as we each kinda found our place. Roommates were great again, Lauren, Jeanette, Rachel, Natalie, and Brittany, but there was occasionally some drama. Yay for teenage girls turning into women. Yep, by the end of my sophomore year I was 20! Who knew I could get so old!
Now after another summer fling and about 3 boys wanting to marry me, I was a junior. I was the "mom" of my Cinnamon Tree apartment which wasn't always easy. Sometimes these girls drove me NUTS. I really was a learning experience this year.... which really did include multiple boys wanting to marry me, breaking their hearts, getting my heart broken, turning 21, and finding out what I really wanted. Needless to say, it was an INTENSE year and I moved home (something I vowed I'd never do) for the summer.

This summer I had to say goodbye to my best friend Calista cuz she left for her mission! I was sad to say goodbye, worried about moving home and being a loser in the Salem Hills singles ward, but things actually started working out really well....

I went from LONG hair to super short hair again....

And started dating the greatest guy ever! Summer of 2007 Dustin and I started dating, even against all the controversy we received because it was "so weird." And yeah, it was weird at first, but then it was SO GOOD! I loved this boy... and I told him that, after the Def Leppard concert in September. Our dating life was on and off but really, when we were on a "break", nothing was ever different, we were still dating... and our love grew for each other.

I moved in with some more awesome girls at the RG hood and we had a lot of fun together. My senior year was a GREAT year... but wait, what was that? SENIOR YEAR? OF COLLEGE? Man, I was a senior at BYU and still not married or even engaged... obviously something was wrong with me. ha ha ha. Dustin and I decide that we really were going to take a break which is actually a horrible story so I won't divulge... BUT that means that with graduation approaching, I had endless choices for what to do with post graduation life and work....

So I graduated from BYU with a Bachelors of Science in the College of Family Life, major of Home and Family Living.

From there I quit my job that I had held from 08/04-04/08 working for Wymount Custodial, "cleaning because you can't" and went into the "real world" meaning Santa Barbara California and became a "nanny" for a family. It was the HARDEST and CRAPPIEST job ever. Not what I expected at all and not what I kicked my butt through college for... so I quit and moved back home to find another job.

Back at home I was with my family and friends and worked at Macey's bakery in Provo for... 3 days. My first day there I got a call from StoresOnline, a place I had applied for before but didn't make the cut, but they had another position available and wanted me to take it. So I quit Maceys and started working for StoresOnline in the preview express part of accounting. I also started teaching group piano lessons for Art City Music Academy in the Draper and Springville location.
I moved to Pleasant Grove and had unfortunate encounters with roommates.... and Dustin and I ended up deciding to get married! So I moved outta there as soon as I could, back to home, we got engaged, and then on March 14, 2009 we got married!
From May 2004 to May 2009, a lot has happened. I have grown and matured so much and experienced things I would never have dreamed of. I have traveled, gotten to know so many people, and made so many friends! I love my life and what I have gone through and I am even more excited for the next 5 years! Many great things will happen! Life is just amazing like that!

Ha ha ha, Brittany, I can tell you the whole story if you want... maybe I'll write a post on it... then everyone can know the real story.

That was really fun to read! It is pretty stinkin' crazy how much can happen in 5 years, especially the 5 years after high school! And I totally agree about your hair-so cute short and gorgeous long. I love it either way!
