One Year Older and Wiser Too!

Yesterday was my magic birthday.... I turned 23 on the 23rd of January! And it was a magical birthday indeed! I got to work to work all day (yay) and Dustin came to visit me, which was really nice. The ladies in my little department brought doughnuts and I brought brownies for my accounts payable gals and my preview express gals. After work I went out to dinner with Dustin at the Pizza Factory and it was delicious. :) He even let me get a rainbow watermelon sucker. YUM. We then went to the AT&T store so we could get 15% off our monthly bill! Good present from AT&T, eh? I thought so. Then Dustin gave me my presents. He got me a really nice picture of Christ that we'll hang in our family room and he got me a new gym back! Just like I wanted! (I'm being dead serious that I wanted it!)
After all that fun, we went to my house where there were 23 pink roses on the counter for me from my parents! They are so sweet! I got ready for a little cocktail party and then the real fun began! ;) I think there was a pretty good turnout and the party was complete with mocktails, shrimp cocktail, spinach and artichoke dip, mini cheesecakes, and even cookie dough truffles! We had a great time!
So here I am now, another year older... and 23 is my favorite number. I have a lot of great things to look forward to with this new year and this new age! I feel so young and so old at the same time.... but probably more young than old. That's a good thing, right? 23 just seemed like such an old age when I was younger and here I am... a college graduate, getting married, and still feeling like a baby.
Life is busy as ever with 2 jobs and wedding planning. I just got moved to a different position at StoresOnline so I've been training to do a LOT of new things. I swear I'm told to do something new every single day! That really keeps things interesting, but it's a lot to remember and it really keeps me busy. My Springville piano kids from the Art City Music Academy had their recital today and I think it went pretty well. They really are such great kids! The Draper ACMA recital will be February 12th so they're still getting ready and there's a lot to get ready for that!
The wedding planning is moving forward and looking great, but takes up all my free time. Sometimes I'd really just like to sit back and RELAX but there's never any time. Engagement pictures are done now and lots of shopping. There's still dress fittings though and floral shop visiting and honeymoon booking. And now to add to all the excitement, Dustin's little sister KENDRA is engaged as well. And actually EVERYONE seems to be getting engaged! Which kinda actually bums me out cuz then I'm not so special anymore! I really should suck it up, but "my special day" is no longer mine or special.... kinda disappointing. Life moves on. :) Overall, I really am happy and I really did have a great birthday! I will have to post some engagement pics soon! :) More wedding updates to come....
